linux, opera & flash player
Adobe flash player is not working currently on linux with opera 9.26
I searched the web and found an explanation here:
http://my.opera.com/jonas22/blog/linux-and-opera-and-it
"Macromedia included some GTK functions in the latest flash version for linux, which neither Opera or Konqueror (both QT based) can use. So Macromedia broke the plugin for Opera and Konqueror, and those browser makers now have to create a fix for that. Brilliant.
Your option is to either downgrade to any plugin before I believe version 9.0.48.0 as Laeh said, or to play with the 9.5 snapshots that are currently in development on http://my.opera.com/desktopteam (but because those are experimental versions, in some builds plugins don't work at all"
I am waiting for Opera9.5, but in the mean time I will downgrade my flash player version so that it works with opera:
- download previous versions from here: http://kb.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_14266
- then configure Opera not to load firefox/iceweasel flash plugin anymore (tools/preferences/advanced/content/plugins and check the plugins path)
it's working !!!!! great ! I used the 9.0.48 linux version and flash is back on track with opera, great news
